Freestyle Dryland Exercises #theraceclub
Strength in the pool is often created by what we do outside of the pool. These two exercises are specifically designed to increase our pull propulsion in freestyle and butterfly strokes.
1️⃣⃣ Single Arm Pulldowns - We like these to help the swimmer think about engaging the lats early inside the catch. By focusing on controlling the weight, we find a direct swim correlation.
2️⃣ Pull Ups (assisted or weighted depending on ability level) - The cream of the crop when it comes to dryland exercises for swimmers. All swimmers should be working different variations of pull ups - ranging from an assisted band to even throwing some weight on if able.
