Why Charlotte's "Three-Flat" Offense is RUINING LaMelo Ball's Potential
I've been saying this for years - the Hornets' "three-flat" alignment is absolutely killing LaMelo's development. When you park three guys on the baseline with zero movement, you're basically gift-wrapping help defense for the opponent.
Look at what happens: Ball brings it up, calls for the screen, and immediately faces a wall of defenders because nobody moved to create any advantages beforehand. The defense doesn't have to work for anything!
LaMelo has elite skills, but this stagnant system forces him into contested threes and tough finishes through contact. When they finally used a shooter to set the screen, suddenly he had room to operate and got an easy and-one.
This is coaching malpractice. You can't expect any guard to consistently create against a set defense when your offense provides zero help.
