I've always been mystified by the 2012 Heat offense. You had LeBron, Wade, and Bosh - three elite creators - yet Mario Chalmers was consistently trying to drive and kick. Why would you ever do this when you have those superstars who could create for Chalmers to be the catch and shoot guy?⁣ ⁣ The idea should be utilizing the gravity of your stars to open up easy shots for role players. If it ends up in the hands of a shooter in a catch and shoot situation where he's open, that's what you want. But the modern NBA has allowed guys who used to only catch and shoot to now dribble - sometimes for better, sometimes for worse.⁣ ⁣ The Heat were running five out spread concepts back then that look remarkably similar to what teams run today. Same problems, same solutions needed.
