🚨 FREESTYLE BREAKOUT SPEED TEST🚨

We have incorporated this simple test to assist the swimmer in understanding the importance of how to carry our push off speed into our dolphin kicks then into our first stroke.

Have the swimmer wear fins and push off in a tight hyper streamline. The swimmer will kick off the wall with 3 fast dolphin kicks and then carry their speed into a 3 cycle breakout without losing any speed upon their first stroke. They will then finish into a tight turn and the watch will stop upon feet hitting the water. Swimmers will often start at a 4.5 second average, but by emphasizing the importance of the first stroke they can drop to below a 3.5 average.

Give this a try on your next speed day.
