#253 Ethan Shuley - Running 2:07 at Osaka Marathon to Become 7th Fastest American All-Time

On this episode, the boys had the legend, Ethan Shuley, back on the podcast after his epic 2:07 run in Osaka last weekend. Ethan first came on the podcast a couple months ago after he ran 2:11 at the Kobe Marathon. At this point, he was still relatively unknown to American distance running fans, but after a 1:01 half-marathon in the build to Osaka, he knew something special was possible!

Adopting Japanese racing-style, Ethan went out hard at Osaka, around 2:05 high, 2:06 low pace and was able to hang on for an epic 2:07 marathon. This time puts him 7th on the all-time US list after names like Conner Mantz and Galen Rupp. The crazy part is - he did this while being unsponsored.

Now - Ethan has agents and sponsors contacting him and he will be signing a professional contract likely this week. We chatted about what the future holds for him, if he will be racing in the U.S. more now, what potential brands are on the table, if there's a chance he runs Boston, and more!
