The countdown to Wimbledon is well and truly on, and there is plenty to unpack from a dramatic week on the grass courts. We react to the stunning news that Serena Williams has been awarded a Wimbledon singles wildcard, discuss the mixed reaction to her return online, and debate who we would like her to face in a blockbuster first-round encounter (Osaka! Raducanu! Harmony Tan!).
On the ATP Tour, Francisco Cerundolo claimed the biggest title of his career at Queen’s Club, while Frances Tiafoe made history in Halle by becoming the first American champion in the tournament’s history. We also assess what their victories mean for the Wimbledon title race, and how likely could a first US men’s champion be since Andy Roddick at the 2003 US Open with Fritz, Shelton and Paul all in fine form.
