Jannik Sinner Names Magnus Norman as Coach + Monfils on Svitolina Separation

Jannik Sinner hires Magnus Norman as his new coach for 2027, Elena Rybakina closes in on the year-end world No. 1 ranking, and Lorenzo Musetti ends his title drought! Join Joel, Kim and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ as we unpack a big week for the Sinner camp. What will new coach Norman bring to Sinner’s team, how does he compare with outgoing coach Darren Cahill, and can the man who guided Stan Wawrinka to three Grand Slam titles help Sinner reach another level while managing the expectations that come with coaching a generational talent? Plus, Rybakina defends her Ningbo title to all but secure her place at the top of the year-end rankings, Daniil Medvedev retains his Almaty crown, and Musetti roars back to lift the Lyon lion trophy for his first title since 2022.

Away from the court, the fallout from Elina Svitolina and Gaël Monfils’ separation continues as Monfils breaks his silence in an emotional livestream. We discuss his response, the impact on his planned Paris Masters farewell, and what kind of reception Svitolina might face the next time she plays in France. Plus, we debate who deserves induction into the 2027 Tennis Hall of Fame, with Ash Barty among the nominees, and whether Serena Williams should be exempt from the usual five-year eligibility rule. Finally, we look ahead to another stacked week of ATP 500 action in Vienna and Basel, with Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic both in action.
