Ben Shelton Hires Alcaraz's Ex Coach Ferrero & Alexander Zverev Becomes World No. 1

Carlos Alcaraz stays perfect at ATP 500 level this season, Ben Shelton brings Juan Carlos Ferrero into his coaching team, and Stan Wawrinka says goodbye to tennis! Join Joel, Kim and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ as we ask whether Alcaraz is becoming untouchable on indoor hard courts, and if Alexander Zverev’s year-end world No. 1 status really deserves celebrating given his 3-9 record against Top 10 opponents. Valentin Vacherot proves he’s more than a one-tournament wonder with another big title in Basel, while we pay tribute to Wawrinka’s incredible 24-year career – and those iconic shorts! Plus, Harriet Dart finally gets her hands on a first WTA Tour title and Diana Shnaider triumphs in Tokyo.

Elsewhere, we unpack the shock news that Juan Carlos Ferrero is joining Ben Shelton’s coaching camp. Could Alcaraz’s former coach be the missing piece in Shelton’s quest for Grand Slam glory, and how will the partnership work alongside his dad, Bryan? With the final Masters 1000 of the season underway in Paris, we look at Djokovic’s hopes of making a deep run and booking his place in Turin. Plus, are the Next Gen generation finally hitting their stride, and what links 17-year-old Moise Kouamé’s first career title to a certain Roger Federer?
