Are you swimming laps non-stop? You might be setting yourself up for a plateau! 📉🏊♂️
Swimming
If you want to swim faster and use your time in the water more effectively, you need to stop just swimming continuously and start using structured interval training.
Here is why intervals will give you a significantly better workout:
The Continuous Plateau: When you swim for 15 minutes straight, fatigue naturally builds up. Your technique breaks down and your average pace drops (for example, slowing to 1:10 per 50m).
The Power of Intervals: Instead of swimming non-stop, break it up. Try swimming 10 x 50m on a 1:30 interval.
Faster & More Efficient: If you finish the 50m in 1 minute, you get 30 seconds of rest. Even though you might cover slightly less total distance than a continuous swim, you are swimming much faster per lap and training your body to hold elite efficiency!
There is nothing wrong with a continuous swim, but doing it every single day will stall your progress.
