If your butterfly feels exhausting and your hips are sinking…Watch this!
Swimming
Butterfly doesn't have to feel like a fight against the water. When we breathe too late in the stroke, our lower body naturally drops, making everything feel incredibly draining. I'd love for you to try the "flick drill" to mindfully reset your rhythm.
Breathe early - As you initiate your pull, take your breath nice and early while keeping your chin low to the surface.
The flick - Give the water a gentle flick past your hips to finish your stroke.
Head down first - Make sure your head drops back down into the water before you reset your arms underneath.
This subtle shift in timing keeps your hips riding high and makes your entire stroke feel beautifully smooth. Technique comes before speed. Take your time practicing this rhythm on your next swim, and always swim with a smile! 💙
Save this drill for your next warmup, and follow along for more mindful technique refinements. 👇
