STRING TIP #13 - Does your string tension change with the weather?
Tennis
Yes. Weather conditions can have a real impact on how your strings and racket play.
👉 Hotter temperatures make the ball fly faster and higher, so players often increase their tension for more control
👉 At altitude, the ball also travels faster through the air, which is why players tend to string at a higher tension
👉 Colder temperatures slow the ball down, so players may lower their tension to get a little more power
Our stringer’s advice: check the weather before your next tournament and adjust your tension accordingly.
