This one arm mistake is exactly why you are working twice as hard but swimming half as fast๐โโ๏ธ
Swimming
If you pull with a straight arm, you are just pushing water down toward the bottom of the pool instead of backward. This is what causes you to bob up and down and waste massive amounts of energy without actually moving forward.
How to fix your pull:
The Setup: After your hand enters the water, reach all the way forward to full extension.
The Catch: Instead of dropping your whole arm straight down, bend at the elbow to initiate an Early Vertical Forearm (EVF).
The Pull: Angle your fingertips toward the bottom of the pool while keeping your elbow high up in front of you. This turns your entire forearm into a massive paddle to drive you forward.
