The Simple Band Drill for a More Powerful Golf Swing
Keep the session moving with another watch from the same channel.
Ever wonder why your strike feels great with some clubs and inconsistent with others?
Most golfers set up with the same spine angle for every club in the bag. It feels simple, so it feels right, but a wedge and a driver need a different amount of side bend at address, and using the wrong one throws off your low point before you even start the swing.
Here is what you actually want:
✅ For a wedge, keep your upper and lower body stacked on top of each other. This matches the shorter, steeper nature of the club.
✅ For a driver, let that reference point move all the way up to the inside of your lead thigh. This supports the flatter, sweeping angle you need off the tee.
Try this drill: with your seven iron, get into your setup position and dangle the club from your shirt buttons. Check where the centre of your pelvis sits slightly forward of the shaft is the target. As soon as it starts to be back of that, it causes issues with your pivot.
Get this right and you will feel a consistent low point and cleaner strike, club after club.
