STOP Topping Your Driver. Fix Your Ball Position!
Keep the session moving with another watch from the same channel.
Ever feel like you’re swaying off the ball instead of turning?
Most golfers think they’re rotating, but they’re actually sliding their hips laterally away from the target. It feels like power because there’s motion, but it moves your low point off the ball and costs you both consistency and speed.
Here is what you actually want:
✅ the distance between your knees to go from wide at address to narrower at the top. This is the visible sign your pressure is shifting not swaying.
✅ Your weight moving into the ground through the inside of trail foot, not outside it. This keeps your body rotating around a stable centre instead of drifting off the ball.
Try this drill: loop a resistance band around your knees and make your backswing. If you’re turning correctly, the band will loosen slightly as your knees narrow. If it stays tight, you’re swaying, not shifting.
Get this right and your backswing becomes a coil instead of a slide, giving you a stable base to turn against on the way down.
