EBV & Me | The rise & fall of an ultramarathon runner

Last year I got diagnosed with a chronic illness called Epstein-Barr Virus. It completely floored me, and I went from running several ultramarathons back to back, to sofa-bound and even struggling to climb the stairs. At times it felt like I was dying, but despite going the doctors several times while I was ill, it took 9 months for me to get diagnosed.

I wanted to share my story to help anyone else going through this, and hopefully encourage them to keep pushing for a diagnosis and hopefully still feel positive about the future.

Everyone who goes through this experiences it slightly differently. My experience won't be the same as anyone else's and my goal with this video is not to act as a comparison to anyone else.

If you are experiencing extreme fatigue, visit your doctor. While there is no cure for EBV, CFS, ME, long-Covid and other post-viral fatigues, it is useful to rule out other possibly illnesses for peace of mind.
