BREAKING: Freddy Peralta Traded to the Tampa Bay Rays! | How Do We Feel About the Mets' Return?!

New York Mets shake up the MLB trade deadline by sending Freddy Peralta to the Tampa Bay Rays for a package of three prospects.

Was this the blockbuster return Mets fans hoped for, or did New York settle for quantity over quality?

Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the deal, scrutinizing the acquisitions of Aiden Smith, Gary Gill Hill, and Emilien Pitre while questioning whether the Mets missed out on a top-100 prospect.

Key discussion points center on Peralta’s disappointing tenure, how this trade compares to past Mets moves like the Justin Verlander deal, and what these new additions could mean for the farm system.

Finkelstein explores Mets fans’ reactions, potential moves involving Huascar Brazoban, Luke Weaver, and Clay Holmes, and whether Emilien Pitre could become New York’s second baseman of the future. Are the Mets building for tomorrow, or did they let a golden opportunity slip away?
