NFL Week 8 2026 Picks: NBA Cup Bets, Futures and a Full Rapid-Fire Board | The House Never Wins #115

Episode Summary

NFL Week 8 2026 Picks and Futurer bets are here! Matt Ross opens Episode 115 with COO Dan Nedelko, who is wearing a Saints jersey after what he calls a rough showing in Paris. Matt reminds viewers that the show is brought to you by TSMx.io, the peer-to-peer betting platform that works differently from a traditional sportsbook, and points new listeners to Episode 114 for the full explanation. Dan says the community is growing. The TSMx Discord has open orders channels where users can get orders matched, new features are launching weekly, and a concierge support team is available at any time of day. Matt sums up the pitch in one phrase: no vig. Because the episode records ahead of its Thursday release, he warns that some lines may have moved by the time listeners hear it.

Last Week’s Results

Matt takes accountability for the picks that missed. The Saints were 3.5-point underdogs in Paris and lost 16-10 to the Steelers, a game that stayed under the total. Dan calls it ugly, with dropped passes, a poor Saints defense, and an offense in disarray. The Knicks and Celtics over 223.5, which Matt called “a colossal failure,” finished roughly 10 to 12 points under the number. Dan says he was ready to say “I told you so” but admits he was on the right side of being wrong. He uses the game to make a broader point about how bookmakers set aggressive totals on heavily hyped games to bait casual bettors.

There was one win. Minnesota, the Vikings -290 moneyline pick from last week, beat Indianapolis 16-10 despite trailing in the third quarter. The Vikings are now 6-0 and the only unbeaten team in the NFL, after the Chiefs and 49ers both lost.

NBA Futures and Title Odds

The Knicks have drifted to roughly +900 to +1000 to win the NBA title after a slow start and a few early losses. Matt sees that as overreaction in an 82-game season. He notes that the roster outside of Mitchell Robinson is intact and that the team is working through a championship hangover and a busy media schedule. He argues the Knicks do not need home-court advantage to win a title. Dan frames the price through the TSMx lens: bettors use several places at once, including FanDuel, DraftKings, and TSMx, so if you can lock in +1000 on a futures bet, the multiplier is worth a small stake.

Matt also flags the Spurs, who drifted from +270 to +290 on a sluggish start. He then turns to the Western Conference. Oklahoma City has been hit by injuries, with Alex Caruso out and Jalen Williams likely gone for the year, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was emotional about it in his postgame press conference. That makes the Houston Rockets at +900 to win the West an interesting longshot. Fred VanVleet is back and looking sharp, the center looks leaner and more athletic, and Kevin Durant is in the mix. Dan encourages bettors to treat long-odds futures like VC investing, where one hit can cover the other misses, as long as it fits the bankroll.

NBA Cup Games

Knicks at 76ers (Friday, Prime Video). Philadelphia is a 1.5 to 3.5 point favorite with a total of 230.5 to 231.5, and a Knicks moneyline of +117 to +130. The 76ers beat the Knicks on opening night and then beat Cleveland after trailing by 29. Matt does not expect New York to lose twice in a row this early and takes the Knicks, even on the moneyline. He finds the total suspiciously high after learning from the Celtics game. Dan calls it more bookmaker baiting, since star power draws casual money to the over. He also sees an arbitrage opportunity. TSMx pulls about 18 different spread and total lines and surfaces the fair line closest to 50-50, which he estimates near 227.5. Bettors can take one side on TSMx and the other at a traditional book to capture the gap.

Lakers at Warriors (Friday, 10 PM start). The line is nearly a pick’em. Golden State just got its first win, in Denver, but Matt does not see them as a team that should be favored against a top-six Western Conference opponent. He loves the Lakers and cannot understand why anyone would take the Warriors. Dan agrees and adds that the spread of roughly one point is not worth betting. His approach would be the Lakers on the moneyline and the under.

Bulls at Celtics. Boston is a 14.5-point favorite per DraftKings, after beating Chicago by 35 on Monday. Matt, a self-declared Celtics fan, takes Boston to cover. He cites Boston’s depth and shooting, a Bulls team with the league’s worst three-point shooting, and a lack of defensive identity in Chicago. Dan says it is a social media game with little betting value. He quotes Celtics -850 and Bulls +575 on the moneyline, with a spread of -15.5 at -110, and notes that laying -850 means risking $850 to win $100. His suggestion is to look at the over/under, the spread, or props.

Week 7 Takeaways and Vikings at Lions

Matt reminds listeners not to overreact from week to week, and to look for trends instead. He sees a gauntlet of a schedule coming for the 6-0 Vikings, starting this week at the Lions. Detroit is favored by 2.5 to 4.5 with a total of 46.5. Matt likes the Lions at home. They beat the Packers on a last-second Jake Bates field goal, Jared Goff keeps throwing for 300-plus yards, and a loss would leave Detroit far behind the unbeaten Vikings in the standings. Matt also notes that Minnesota has not yet faced a running game like Jahmyr Gibbs’.

Dan also likes the Lions and takes the over. He calls the Lions’ defense atrocious but their offense dangerous and high-powered. He says the Vikings’ schedule has been soft and that they are not the best team in the NFL, though he credits them as surprisingly better than expected, with Kyler Murray fitting in well under Kevin O’Connell. His distinction is that every mediocre team looks great against bad opponents.

NFL Week 8 2026 Picks: Sunday Night Football

Washington is a 3.5-point favorite with a total barely over 40. Philadelphia is on a short week with Tanner McKee at quarterback after a Monday night loss to Dallas. Matt saw encouraging signs from McKee and notes that his interception in the second half hurt, along with an Eagles defense that let him down. He is skeptical of Washington’s offense, which throws short and predictably and lacks Terry McLaurin. Dan is firmer. He gives McKee credit for a solid two and a half quarters, praises the leadership of Saquon Barkley, and criticizes Commanders coaching and offensive line management, even suggesting that Dan Quinn’s job could be on the line. He takes the Eagles on the moneyline (around +160) and expects the game to stay competitive until the middle of the third or the fourth quarter before Philadelphia pulls away. The two then do a rapid fire for all NFL Week 8 2026 Picks

Closing

Dan reminds listeners that the Discord has tutorials, upcoming contests, and a team ready to help match orders. He notes that TSMx offers a free-to-play coin mode so that bettors can practice order-setting, EV betting, or arbitrage with no liability. Matt adds that TSMx charges only a small fee on winners and has no vig. TSMx.io is licensed in 22 states plus Washington D.C., players must be 21 or older, and Matt shares the 1-800-GAMBLER line. Dan’s closing line sums up the show: sportsbooks need you to lose, and TSMx needs you to win. Users can bet now and make their NFL Week 8 2026 Picks.
