Zacharie Brooks | Creating Systems That Win

Most programs don't fail because of talent - they fail because everything depends on one person. Coach Zacharie Brooks reveals the leadership framework behind Grounded Growth and shows how to build a team that can run, win, and grow long after the head coach steps away.

Brooks turns coaching into something bigger than Xs and Os. Using a simple tree model - roots, trunk, and canopy - he breaks down how relationships, systems, and results work together to create real buy-in, stronger culture, and lasting success. It's a lens shaped by 12 years in track and field, five state championships, classroom experience, real estate, and the hard lessons of building teams from the ground up.

Brooks also shares the personal pillars that guide his coaching - accountability, effort, respect, and family - plus the story behind his first children's book, Brave Steps on a Track, which teaches shy kids how belonging, confidence, and courage can start with one step.

If you're a coach, teacher, athletic director, or leader trying to create a program that lasts, this conversation is packed with practical wisdom you can use immediately. Grounded Growth is more than a philosophy - it's a blueprint for building something that survives beyond any one person.United Basketball+ is a resource for coaches, teachers, players, and leaders.
