Joel Hofer stopped all 25 shots he faced to record his ninth career NHL shutout as the St. Louis Blues beat the Dallas Stars 4-0 on Friday night in the 2026-27 season opener at American Airlines Center. Mason McTavish’s first period goal, his first as a member of the Blues, turned out to be the game-winner. Dalibor Dvorský added a goal in the second period and a pair of late empty net goals from Jimmy Snuggerud and Pius Suter rounded out the scoring. Adam Jiríčěk, making his NHL debut, thought he scored a power play goal early in the third period, but it was disallowed following a successful coach’s challenge by the Stars for offside against Pavel Buchnevich.
