New York Mets welcome Jorge Polanco back as they search for a much-needed spark—can his return lift a struggling lineup and season?
The team shuffles the roster, optioning Ronny Mauricio and designating Alex Carillo for assignment, betting on Polanco's bat despite lingering health questions.
Ryan Finkelstein breaks down how Polanco, alongside Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Bo Bichette, could finally give the Mets the offensive punch originally envisioned by the front office.
Key storylines include the Mets’ revamped lineup, pitching staff shakeups like the debut of Matt Selinger, and a critical home stand against the Kansas City Royals.
With Seth Lugo and Michael Wacha set for the Royals, Ryan Finkelstein explores playoff hopes, trade deadline implications, and what a healthier squad might mean for New York’s chances.
Can the Mets seize this opportunity to climb out of the basement, or will familiar frustrations resurface?
