#386 - Chicago Marathon Elite Field Preview

On this episode, Chris did a preview for the elite field of the Chicago Marathon this coming weekend! I broke it up into top contenders for each field and then top Americans to look out for in each field.

On the men’s side, the overwhelming favorite is returning champ Jacob Kiplimo! The American race is particularly exciting with an American record attempt going down from Clayton Young and top competitors Charles Hicks and Vinny Mauri looking for huge performances.

On the women’s side, the field is led by 2:14 women Brigid Kosgei and Hawi Feysa! Feysa won Chicago last year but Brigid Kosgei defeated her handily at Tokyo earlier this year. Sharon Lokedi looks to prove she is a top competitor on flat courses as well!

The American women’s field has legends Sara Hall and Des Linden. A couple names to look out for regarding top American honors will be Emma Grace Hurley in her debut and Molly Born after winning CIM in her debut in a time of 2:24 last year!
