Dave Hakstol Set to Leave the Avalanche to Coach Arizona State Hockey. Power Play Problems Solved?!?

Colorado Avalanche brace for a coaching shakeup as reports link Dave Hakstol to the Arizona State University hockey program. Could this move finally resolve Colorado’s ongoing power play woes? Chris Micieli and Zach Pearson break down how Hakstol’s departure could spark fresh strategies and examine the fallout from ASU’s coaching controversy after a traumatic offseason incident. The hosts speculate on top candidates like Adam Foote and Kris Knoblauch to fill the looming assistant coach vacancy and debate the real reasons behind the team’s special teams struggles.

Turning to the ice, Chris and Zach dissect the Avalanche’s defensive lapses, Mackenzie Blackwood’s inconsistent goaltending, and possible trade scenarios involving the New York Rangers. They preview the high-stakes home-and-home series against the Dallas Stars, analyze key player performances including Mikko Rantanen’s scoring, and outline how Colorado can regain momentum in the Central Division. Will a coaching change be the spark the Avalanche need?
