Avalanche Grind Out a Win in Game 1 of Back to Back In Dallas

Colorado Avalanche outlast Dallas Stars in a gritty 3-2 battle, despite missing Cale Makar. Can Nathan MacKinnon's firepower spark a sustained playoff push?

Chris Micieli and Zach Pearson break down the Avalanche's hard-fought victory, spotlighting Mackenzie Blackwood’s bounce-back performance in net and MacKinnon’s relentless edge—evident in his second fight already this season. Key topics include the Avalanche defense scrambling without Makar, Malinski’s top-pairing struggles, and high-danger Stars chances. The hosts analyze faceoff woes, penalty-killing highlights, and standout efforts from Martin Necas and Artturi Lehkonen. Listener reactions, quirky soundcheck song picks, and a look ahead to the Avs-Stars rematch add fuel to the episode’s energetic pace.

Will MacKinnon’s intensity drive Colorado to a deep run, or is defensive depth still a concern as the Central Division battle heats up?
