NO CONNOR HELLEBUYCK for the Buffalo Sabres as goalie future now looks cloudy

Connor Hellebuyck has been traded to the New Jersey Devils. The dream of the Buffalo Sabres obtaining the best goalie in the world has come to an end. Could the Sabres have matched the Devils offer considering there wasn't much that was valuable?

Now that Hellebuyck is gone, what is the Sabres future in goal? Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has three years remaining on his deal, including this year, and we've yet to see Alex Lyon this season. Internal options don't sound sexy, but it may be where we ultimately end up. There are a couple other trade ideas that could become realistic as the season continues, including Filip Gustavsson in Minnesota.

Plus, what went wrong for the Sabres in their overtime loss to Alex Tuch and the Washington Capitals.
