DECISION: How Will the Mets DEPLOY Kodai Senga in 2027? | Closer, Set-up Man, Starter, Trade Bait?

New York Mets face a pivotal decision on Kodai Senga after a turbulent 2026 season. Once penciled in as a starter, Senga’s struggles forced a shift to the bullpen, where he flashed potential as the team’s closer.

Should the Mets entrust the ninth inning to Senga again, or does the free agent market—featuring names like Adrian Morejón and David Bednar—offer better options for locking down games at Citi Field?

Host Ryan Finkelstein unpacks Senga’s rollercoaster year, weighing the risks of relying on a pitcher with inconsistent command and lingering starter ambitions.

The episode explores possible trade scenarios, the challenges of Senga’s $14 million contract, and strategies for rebuilding the Mets’ bullpen around Devin Williams.

With the offseason looming, can New York maximize Senga’s value, or will his role become a costly wildcard for the 2027 campaign?
