Is Mark Vientos the Mets' BEST Option to Platoon at 1B?! | Who Else Could Fill That Role in 2027?

New York Mets face a pivotal offseason question: Is Mark Vientos running out of chances in Queens?

After a breakout 2024 campaign with 32 home runs, Vientos has struggled through two disappointing seasons, raising doubts about his future as a right-handed platoon option alongside Jared Young at first base.

Ryan Finkelstein examines the Mets’ internal and external alternatives, from possible trades for Jake Burger or Spencer Steer to free agent targets like Alec Bohm and Miguel Andújar.

The episode also unpacks Vientos’s arbitration outlook, defensive issues, and accountability concerns, while considering Jorge Polanco's injury uncertainty and the lack of proven right-handed bats on the roster.

Can Vientos rediscover his power and secure a roster spot, or is it time for the Mets to move on? Don’t miss this must-listen analysis of the Mets’ roster crossroads.
