I raced a 5,000m on the track @thedetroitclassic . This was an event put on by @tommie_runz and @the.pr.project . I debated whether to wear spikes for this event, but I haven’t worn spikes in a while, have never raced this far on the track, and have been tending to a sore achilles for a couple weeks. . Instead, I laced up the Adidas Takumi Sen 11 for the first time. This is perenially one of my favorite shoes, and my 5k PR is in the Takumi Sen 9. The updated version was very cushioned for the track while also feeling lively and fast. I was hoping to come in under 20 minutes for this race, and that is pretty much right where I ended up. I think I could have raced this just a touch better had I been willing to take some risks, but im overall happy that I was able to have fun with the race and the Achilles wasn’t a problem (although it’s a bit tender the day after). .
