Baby Swim | Evie 9 Months Bath Time Swim
Even once baby starts visiting the pool regularly, the bath and shower swimming lessons remain important. During bath time we can reinforce many of the learn to swim skills we have been practicing at the pool. By practicing cup conditioning daily we can maintain baby's breath control in between lessons. During bath time we can also practice floating and kicking skills. By 9 months of age baby will be very active during bath time. Warning, never leave baby unattended in the bath. If you leave the bathroom take baby with you. Drowning happens quickly and it's silent.
If you don't have a bathtub at home, you may decide to purchase a large plastic swimming shell or blow up pool. If you use these items it's essential that you empty the water immediately after use and store them securely. Swimming shells and blow up pools are serious drowning hazards for children under the age of 5. Remember if you leave them outside they can even refill with rain water.
Getting in the bath with your baby is fun and it's also perfect for supervision. These bath time sessions provide the perfect opportunity to play and engaging in great bonding sessions. You can experiment with different depths of water during bath time. Deep water will give baby an opportunity to feel their own buoyancy. All activities must be under strict parental supervision.
All baby swimming classes must be conducted in a safe and positive learn to swim environment. Each Baby and Toddler should be encouraged to learn to swim according to their individual readiness. The learn to swim process should follow a step by step process including water familiarisation, breath control, submersion, floating and propulsion. Adult supervision is always required when in and around the water. To learn all about how to teach swimming to babies visit my website and get my online program at babyswim.info
