After Liga’s incredible run at the CCC at UTMB last year, we decided to take on something a little shorter in 2025 – the ETC (Experience Trail Courmayeur). At just 15km in distance, it might sound like the “easy” option at UTMB week, but with a huge 1200m of vertical gain, this mountain race is anything but simple! From the steep opening climb to the rugged alpine trails, the ETC at UTMB Mont-Blanc packs a serious punch in a short distance. We both signed up thinking it would be a fun way to soak up the incredible atmosphere in Chamonix without committing to an ultra – but it turned into a much harder day in the mountains than expected. That main climb? Absolute brute – and I’d completely forgotten how steep it really was! In this video we take you along for the ride – the climbs, the descents, the breathtaking views, and the finish line smiles.
