The dip isn't the problem, bad timing is.
I've said this for years and it still surprises people: bringing the ball down early in your one-two kills your energy transfer before you even get to the jump. You sit at the bottom of that dip waiting for the plant, and all that momentum just leaks out.
The fix is simple to say, harder to feel: the bottom of your dip needs to be synchronized with your right foot plant. That's it. That's the whole secret.
I can show a kid this in one day and save them 10,000 shots worth of trial and error. When they finally feel it click, they look at me like I pulled a rabbit out of a hat. I didn't do anything magic, I just showed them why the shots that "felt right" actually felt right.
Talked through this one with Brianna Joy Garza and it's some of the best shooting mechanics conversation I've had in a while. #shorts
