ENCOURAGING: Islanders, Led by Semyon Varlamov, SHOW Resolve in Sloppy Ottawa Shootout Thriller

The New York Islanders scrap for a point in a sloppy showdown with the Ottawa Senators, as Semyon Varlamov's resilience in net offers a glimmer of hope for the team’s playoff aspirations. Can Varlamov regain his pre-injury form and provide the reliable backup performance the Islanders desperately need?

Gil Martin highlights Logan Stanley’s gritty defensive effort, Adam Pelech’s costly overtime penalty, and the controversial shootout choices involving Simon Holmstrom. Mathew Barzal’s ongoing knee injury casts a shadow over the team, fueling concerns about his long-term future and the Islanders' offensive spark. The episode rounds out with a preview of Saturday’s matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, key injury updates, and a nod to Islanders legend Ken Morrow on his 70th birthday. Will the Islanders rise to the challenge on their Toronto trip, or will their depth continue to be tested?

All this and more on today's Locked On Islanders Podcast with Gil Martin.
