GAMBLE: Should Islanders Offer $9 Million for Simon Edvinsson and BOOST Their Playoff Hopes?

The New York Islanders explore a bold move for restricted free agent Simon Edvinsson as defensive injuries raise urgent questions about their playoff hopes. Could the acquisition of the former Detroit Red Wings first-round pick transform the Islanders’ blue line, or would the hefty price—potentially a trade involving top prospects or a $9 million offer sheet—set back their rebuild?

Gil Martin breaks down Romanov’s injury impact, Edvinsson’s strengths, and the financial and strategic hurdles facing Mathieu Darche. The episode analyzes Simon Holmstrom’s demotion to the fourth line, the importance of a mental reset, and Mat Barzal’s return timeline. Get ready for an in-depth preview of the clash against the Vancouver Canucks, featuring updates on Elias Pettersson and a look at the Islanders’ power-play opportunity against Vancouver’s struggling penalty kill. Plus, celebrate Marc-André Bergeron as the Islanders birthday of the day. Are the Islanders poised to make a season-defining decision?

All this and more on today's Locked On Islanders Podcast with Gil Martin.
