#220 Jimmy Whelan - World Tour Cyclist Turned 61 Minute Half-Marathoner

On this episode, the boys had on special guest Jimmy Whelan! Jimmy was originally an elite cyclist, making his way up to the World Tour and riding in some of cycling's most iconic races (including the Giro d'Italia!).

With pro cycling unfortunately comes a lot of crashes too - and Jimmy had a few bad ones. After his last one, he decided enough was enough and went all in on triathlon instead. He was good at triathlon but didn't enjoy the swimming.

So - he decided to go all in on running, and it has paid off in a big way already! After putting in a big 12 week build for Valencia half-marathon, Jimmy ripped a 61 minute half-marathon and announced himself to the pro running world!

Jimmy is now looking for a pro contract and is excited to run a marathon potentially next year. It was really interesting to hear about his training leading into Valencia and also his comparisons between pro cycling and pro running.
