Joey Whelan is a unique runner. In his 5th marathon in 2025, he won the Indy Monumental Marathon in 2:12. This was not his last marathon of the year, though. With his eyes set on CIM, Indy was meant to be a long run.
He started his marathon journey doing ranch work in Texas, did his first marathon in 2017 and is now a two times Olympic Trial Qualifier.
