LOUSY TIMING: Florida State Risks LOSING Top Transfer Portal Targets Amid Coaching Uncertainty

Florida State Seminoles risk falling behind in the transfer portal race as their coaching search threatens to derail immediate roster upgrades and player retention. With top targets like Glenn Schumann (Georgia), Shannon Dawson (Miami), and Blake Baker (LSU) potentially unavailable until deep playoff runs conclude, patience could mean punting on next season’s success. Is it worth sacrificing short-term wins to land the ideal coach for the program’s future, or should Florida State go with Jimbo Fisher instead, a coach available now?

The conversation focused on the urgency for Florida State to rebuild its offensive and defensive lines, facing fierce competition from powerhouse programs like Georgia, LSU, Miami, and Texas A&M. Key themes include skyrocketing portal market prices—up to $4 million for a top quarterback—and the challenge of retaining key players amid coaching uncertainty. The discussion explored whether immediate winning is realistic and identified the trenches as the critical battleground for the Seminoles’ resurgence. Will Florida State’s bold gamble pay off, or will rivals capitalize before the new era begins?
