THE REBUILD: Why Jake Dickert Checks Important Boxes | Recruiting | Beating UF & Miami

Florida State Seminoles’ path back to dominance runs through transformative recruiting and tactical coaching changes. Can rising coaches like Jake Dickert bring Tallahassee a top-10 class and finally restore FSU’s edge against bitter rivals Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes? The conversation focused on Dickert’s adaptability, quarterback development—including his work with quarterbacks Cam Ward and Gio Lopez—and questions around recruiting in the South, NIL strategy, and staff building.

A key theme that emerged was the pressing need for Florida State to bolster in-state recruiting, close the talent gap with Miami, and target key portal additions, especially in the trenches. The discussion explored Florida’s ongoing struggles, Miami’s stacked roster advantages, and what it will realistically take for FSU to reclaim bragging rights in rivalry games and climb into the College Football Playoff conversation. Will the next head coach ignite the turnaround FSU fans demand?
