BRYAN TROTTIER PART 1 | Ice Guardians Ep 54

Kelly Chase and Brett Hull are hanging out with six-time Stanley Cup champion Bryan Trottier in part one of their conversation this week. Trotts and Chaser tell Hully about the first time they ever met on the ice and the guys talk about the similarities between Trotts and Mark Messier and how far back those comparisons go. Trotts fills the guys in what it was like growing up in Saskatchewan with Native grandparents and what role music has played in his life. Hully asks Trotts about getting drafted and starting his career with a great young group in New York and Trotts goes into the influence Al Arbour had on the Islanders teams of the late 70s and early 80s and how the Trio Grande line came to be. Trotts discusses his first impressions of the Edmonton Oilers and how the passing of one dynasty to another happened because of the example the Islanders set after winning. They talk about rivalries and how much the media and the fans made the Rangers-Islanders rivalry as great as it was.
