Linda Noskova vs Lanlana Tararudee - Preview & Prediction - 2026 US Open

Linda Noskova vs Lanlana Tararudee — full preview, head-to-head breakdown and prediction for their SECOND ROUND match at the 2026 US Open at Flushing Meadows, New York. A reigning Wimbledon champion against Thailand's trailblazer.

Linda Noskova arrives in New York as a Grand Slam champion. The Czech won Wimbledon this year and is seeded sixth here, and she opened her campaign in control, beating American Katie Volynets 7-5, 6-1. After a hard-court swing that included a shock loss to Caty McNally in Toronto, this is her chance to build a serious fortnight — she is in the same quarter as several of the draw's dangerous names, and a clean second round matters.

Lanlana Tararudee is one of the stories of the first week. Thailand's No. 1 player, with a career-high ranking of World No. 99 set in May, she came through a genuine test in the opening round, beating Elvina Kalieva 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-2 across three sets. She is now into the second round of a Grand Slam with nothing to lose and an entire country watching.

They have never played on the main tour. On paper it is a mismatch — a Slam champion and No. 6 seed against a player ranked around the top 100. But Tararudee has already shown this week she can win ugly, and second-round matches at Slams have a habit of getting complicated for seeds who are not fully switched on.
