🚨 BREAKING: Giants Acquire J.J. McCarthy From the Vikings. Live Reaction

THIS IS A LIVE STREAM REPLAY FROM THE FIRESIDE GIANTS YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

The Giants trade for J.J. McCarthy: the quarterback comes over from the Minnesota Vikings on Monday for a 2027 fifth-round pick, pending a physical, six days after Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee surgery. We react live.

McCarthy went 10th overall in 2024, missed his rookie year on injured reserve, then started 10 games in 2025: 6-4, 140 of 243 for 1,632 yards, 11 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a 72.6 passer rating. The Vikings named Kyler Murray their starter in August, and today they moved him for a Day 3 pick.

We break down the price, the contract (a fully guaranteed rookie deal with a 2028 fifth-year option the Giants now control), the John Harbaugh connection to Jim Harbaugh's Michigan title team, and the real question: Jameis Winston starts Sunday against Arizona, but with 229 passing yards in two games, how long does that last? Plus where the 2-1 Giants stand with Dart out and Brian Burns awaiting an MRI.
