PMS 2.0 1658 - MNF Recap, Darius Butler, Shams Charania, Kevin Weekes, Heather Dinich, Rece Davis, Ian Rapoport, & AJ Hawk

On today’s show, Pat, AJ Hawk, and the boys react to last night’s Chicago Bears victory over the Seattle Seahawks, highlighted by a dominant debut from Jeffery Simmons following his trade to Chicago. The lads also feel the beat as the action heats up across the sports world, with hockey, basketball, and football all swinging a hot bat.  Joining the progrum, Senior NBA Insider for ESPN Shams Charania stops by to discuss the latest injury news around the league, including several All-Stars expected to miss extended time. Shams also highlights some of the hottest starts to the NBA season, with Luka Dončić, Tyrese Maxey, Jayson Tatum, and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg among the players putting up impressive scoring numbers and making an early impact for their teams.  Shifting from the hardwood to the ice, ESPN NHL Analyst and Insider Kevin Weekes joins the boys to discuss some of the biggest developing storylines around the NHL. Weekesy provides insight into Dylan Larkin’s reported trade request out of Detroit, along with reigning NHL MVP Nikita Kucherov’s frustrations with the Tampa Bay Lightning following contract negotiations that haven't gone as expected. He also shares his thoughts on Connor McDavid’s unbelievable talent and continued dominance, going as far as calling him “the best athlete on the planet.”  Turning our attention to college football, ESPN College Football Reporter and Insider Heather Dinich stops by to preview tonight’s highly anticipated release of the first College Football Playoff rankings. Heather breaks down where some of the top teams could land, what factors the selection committee will be weighing, and how many SEC teams she expects to make the final playoff field.  Continuing the CFP conversation, College GameDay Host Rece Davis joins the progrum to take a deeper look at the selection committee’s process and what to expect from tonight’s rankings. Rece also dives into his latest edition of Rece’s Pieces, starting with the question, “Is there anybody great?” as he identifies Miami, Notre Dame, and Georgia as teams with the potential to separate themselves from the rest of the field. He then shifts to “Teams We Thought Were Cooked,” highlighting USC, Oregon, and LSU as progrums that have managed to turn things around. Rece wraps up by revealing his latest AP Top 25 ballot and reacting to Tone’s Above Average Poll, with both rankings featuring Miami in the top spot.  Rounding out the show, Junior NFL Insider for ESPN Ian Rapoport joins the lads with the latest news and rumors as the NFL trade deadline approaches, highlighting several names and potential moves to keep an eye on. Raps also takes part in a brand-new segment, Rapid Fire with Rapsheet, answering questions about the Colts’ quarterback situation, the Packers and Rams getting key players back, the current state of the Minnesota Vikings, and notable free agents still waiting to find a new home.
