A Back to Back of Bad Play From the Colorado Avalanche Raises Some Concern

Colorado Avalanche stumble with back-to-back losses, raising concerns as scoring woes continue and star forward Nathan MacKinnon battles through an uncharacteristic slump. Are these early struggles a sign of deeper issues, or just a brief October hiccup for a roster packed with talent?

Hosts Chris Micieli and Zach Pearson break down the Avalanche’s disappointing 4-3 defeat to the New Jersey Devils, questioning the team’s lackluster offense, shot generation, and reliance on late goals from Artturi Lehkonen. The discussion spotlights Scott Wedgewood’s stellar goaltending, the impact of missing depth like Logan O’Connor, and how tweaks to the lineup (including the much-maligned 11-and-7 format) have disrupted Colorado's flow. With fans voicing frustration and soundcheck selections capturing the team's mood, the episode explores whether adversity now could build resilience for another Stanley Cup run—or expose cracks the Avs need to fix fast.
