Mavs Fans, It's Okay to Come Back to the Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks’ win over the Houston Rockets felt like a turn-the-page moment for the entire franchise, with the Mavs off to a 4-2 start as Cooper Flagg takes the leap and Kyrie Irving returns from his ACL injury. Is it okay for Mavs fans who walked away after the Luka Dončić trade to come back to the Dallas Mavericks and enjoy this new NBA chapter?

Nick Angstadt and Isaac Harris break down why joy is returning to basketball in Dallas under Mavs Team President Masai Ujiri, head coach Dusty May, and Mavs GM Mike Schmitz, and why the franchise feels so different from a year ago, when Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd were still in charge. They talk through every kind of Mavs fan right now, from those who never left to those still soured on Mavs Owner Patrick Dumont, and how this era compares to the days of Dirk Nowitzki and former Mavs Owner Mark Cuban. They also cover how PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, Naji Marshall, Dereck Lively II, Zaccharie Risacher, Sergio de Larrea, Walter Clayton Jr., Marcus Sasser, and Morez Johnson Jr. fit into the early-season story, plus the Morez Johnson Jr. vs. Yaxel Lendeborg debate.
