Could Jonah Tong Be the Mets' Didier Fuentes in 2027? | A Former Top Prospect Turned RELIEF Ace!

Atlanta Braves stun the Los Angeles Dodgers as Didier Fuentes delivers a masterful multi-inning relief performance, locking down a pivotal playoff win.

Could the New York Mets have their own secret weapon in Jonah Tong next season?

Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the Braves’ evolving pitching strategy, emphasizing how Fuentes transitioned from top starting prospect to an invaluable bullpen force.

The conversation shifts to the Mets’ prospects, spotlighting Tong’s major league debut, his arsenal, and why he could flourish in a similar high-leverage relief role.

Key topics include MLB’s shift toward flexible pitching staffs, comparisons with other rising arms, and the roles of young hurlers like Gabe Davis and Luke Gabrysh in shaping the Mets bullpen next year.

Will Tong become the Mets’ version of Fuentes, anchoring crucial playoff innings and redefining the team’s October formula?
