Episode 701: Monica DeVreese on Building Rabbit, Running 2:57, and a Life in the Running Industry

Today on the podcast, we’ve got Monica DeVreese, one of the co-founders of Rabbit. Rabbit has been some of my favorite running apparel, especially recently, and when we launched the Female Founded series, I really wanted to have Monica on the podcast.

Monica has over 20 years of experience in the industry and owns the Santa Barbara Running Company with her husband. She has experience as a runner, consumer, specialty running store owner, and brand builder. She’s run a 2:57 marathon, completed several 100-mile distances, spends a lot of time on the trails, and is also a mother of two.

I have to say, I think it’s pretty obvious that Rabbit is owned by two women because, to me at least, you can tell the female body was taken into deep consideration when designing their apparel. I’m loving their new shorts with the roses on them and have been wearing them all the time. They’re so cute.

I love getting to know industry leaders and people in this community outside of the pro runners sometimes. I’m excited to share this conversation with Monica and I know you’re going to find her inspiring just like I did.
