This week we speak to Fleur Cushman from CurraNZ, the New Zealand black current supplement that's making waves in the ultra community.
This podcast is very science based so be prepared to either taker notes or save the transcript to refer to afterwards.
I first heard about the product from Kim Collison and Josh wade (among others) a few years back while the product was new to the Ultra and trail scene.
Over the past 12 years, a body of evidence, including dozens of studies into its effects on fat metabolism, heat acclimation, Vo2Max and recovery have all been published and some of the numbers actually seem impossible, so impossible that many of the studies had to be repeated numerous times to ensure they were indeed correct.
I've been using CurraNZ for the last week and although it's too early to be sure, I can definitely feel like something is happening, especially with recovery. So for a 46 year old ultra runner, my interest is peaked! Time will tell and I'll report my findings in the coming weeks. But don't take my word for it. Try it yourself and let us know!
