Can I Beat My Dad’s Course Record at Columbus Park? | MUNI KING Ep 1
Golf
Twenty-five years ago, my dad shot a 30 at Columbus Park Golf Course, a nine-hole muni on the West Side of Chicago.
In 2025, I came back to see if I could top it.
This is the first episode of MUNI KING, a new series where I travel to historically rich municipal courses that built the foundation of golf culture in cities like mine, starting with the one that shaped my dad, shaped me, and shaped my love for the game.
The mission: to both become and crown new King's of the Muni by beating the lowest known course records beginning with my dad’s.
Watch as I take on every hole, fight the pressure of legacy, and try to outdo what was once allegedly done long ago.
Course: Columbus Park Golf Course – Chicago, IL
