In today's video, Thys reviews the adidas Adios Pro 5, the latest iteration of one of the most iconic carbon plated race day shoes on the market.
The Adios Pro 5 arrives with a new upper that brings more stretch and additional heel padding compared to its predecessor, making for a noticeably more comfortable and more durable fit. The ride is soft, stable, and bouncy, with a rigid, springy character that makes it an accessible package for a wide range of runners. It is not the most accommodating shoe in terms of width, running slightly narrow, and the softness of the midsole does mean the shoe can collapse a little on the lateral and medial sides under load, which is worth knowing before you commit.
What Thys comes away with is a shoe that has moved in the right direction. More comfortable, more durable, and still delivering the soft, dynamic ride the Adios Pro line is known for.
