In today’s episode of In Conversation, I have the pleasure of sitting down with Rachel Entrekin.
Rachel has become a major inspiration in the trail-running world. She won the Cocodona 250 while breaking the overall course record, before going on to finish second at UTMB, a very different kind of race.
We filmed this conversation a few days before UTMB. We discuss her journey from working full-time in healthcare to becoming a professional athlete, the challenges of balancing work and training, and her decision to follow the races that genuinely inspire her rather than the path others expected her to take.
We also explore what draws her to ultra-endurance events, how running helps us build resilience, the difference between doing your best and needing to be the best, and the growing role of women at the front of some of the world’s toughest races.
