Sorry, We Need To Talk About Crystal Palace & UEFA
Despite winning the FA Cup, Crystal Palace have been demoted from the Europa League to the Conference League by UEFA for breaking the organisation's multi-club ownership.
That's because John Textor, a minority shareholder at Selhurst Park, also owns Lyon - yet the likes of Red Bull Salzburg & RB Leipzig and Girona & Man City have evaded UEFA sanctions in the past, and even the team replacing Palace in the Europa League - Nottingham Forest - are themselves part of a multi-club ownership group, controlled by Evangelos Marinakis.
So in this video, HITC Sevens takes a look at why Crystal Palace have become such rare victims of UEFA's regulations, who is to blame, and why Andrew Omobamidele probably didn't fix a Strasbourg game.
