Darryn Peterson made this matchup personal from possession one, and I love it.
The deflection in the passing lane on the game's first play, the cold rip where he uses that inside hand to strip Wagler clean, and then the block from behind after crossing the entire court just to stay attached to his assignment. That's a rookie treating Summer League like it means something.
But I'd be lying if I said it was all clean. Three jump-shot fouls in this game, and the last one is just careless, lunging at Wagler in the air with no regard for landing space. Coaches will live with the aggression, they won't live with the fouls.
For Wagler, this is the tape you study. He's 19, he's got the spin move and the skill, but Peterson's speed exposed how much faster everyone gets from this level on. That's the NBA lesson nobody skips. #shorts
